RRI Practice Internal RRI Review describes the challenges, choices and results of applying an RRI approach consistently throughout a research project. The report is based on critical reflection on interviews with project members and discussions held at project’s consortium meetings. This internal review shows that the project teams have been using RRI for three different functions: ‘bringing agents and communities together’, ‘expanding agendas and communities’ and ‘rethinking agendas and communities.’ Tensions encountered in the practice of doing RRI are also analysed. The review concludes by discussing the importance of reflexivity and flexibility for research projects and how various actors in the science system can facilitate this.
